While never officially recognized in civilized
play, there is a situation which can arise and which must be
discretely addressed in any encyclopedic discussion of Zombie
Croquet. This condition is colloquially referred to as "Wog Amok," or
"Woggamuck."
On rare occasions, a player may determine that his or her only hope is to abandon the pursuit of wickets altogether and simply run amok. This player will use his or her turns to strike other balls and generally create mayhem on the playing field. This player is said to have "gone woggamuck."
Sometimes players go woggamuck when they judge themselves to be so
far behind that further legitimate play is moot. More nobly, they may
determine that another player is so close to victory that the game's
interests are best served by disrupting that player's progress.
In any case, the derangement called Wog Amok is best not discussed or recognized openly for the sake of civility.
